There are a few major changes to the system which will greatly improve performance and reliability
All the new hardware has been installed and fully tested
The Server Operating System is cloned, This will mean if anything goes wrong with the server it can be fully formatted and reinstalled remotely in under 5 minutes
New managed router and hardware firewall in front of the server. Protecting from DOS attacks and prioritising certain traffic
The main [IP] server codename Hobgoblin is down for maintenance.
This has been in the pipeline for a while to reinstall the server Operating system but today I picked up a virus on the server and decided to carry out the work now instead of just trying to quick fix the problem.
With a clean installation the server will run much better than before (not that there was anything wrong with it) but everyone likes better. I also have new hardware to be installed into the server and I will also be able to update the BIOS to the latest.
